I loved the first book in this series Wildest Dreams and started this book immediately after finishing the fist one. If you were wondering you could read this first and wouldn't be too confused as you would with most series. But, you would need to read both before 3.
I wouldn't think it but I actually liked this book more than the first. I loved Circe. I loved the world and all the different customs. It was all very interesting. I liked how the author dealt with the language barrier. I hate it in books when there's a huge language barrier and somehow poof they suddenly know how to speak it. Now if you're looking for something similar to compare with and you are familiar with fantasy the story of Daenerys and Khal Drogo in the book A Game of Thrones I found a lot of similarities between their stories. Suffice it to say I liked Daenerys and Khal's story but I loved Circe and Lahn.
I could not stop reading this book. Seriously this was an all nighter for me. It was one of those books that makes you laugh and makes you cry. That makes you feel what the characters feel so keenly that you are dragged into their world. I have never read this author before this series and I have to say I intend to read some of her other books if they are anything like this one!
